Visit Vivian den Hollander

Title 1

For the second time in a row, the Frankfurt International School (FIS) along with Stichting Nederlands Onderwijs in Frankfurt (SNOF, Foundation for Instruction in Dutch Language in Frankfurt), organized a literature afternoon on the premises of the Frankfurt International School in Oberursel.

On Saturday, November 5th, Vivian den Hollander  - a well known Dutch writer of children books for ages 3-12 and winner of several renowned prices - visited the FIS  to read extracts of her own stories to our smallest pupils. Vivian den Hollander was invited by the First Language Program Team as part of its cultural program. About 50 Dutch and Belgian pupils, their families and friends attended the reading. The audience was captured by Vivian's fascinating reading style. The commons - or Rose Carpet Area - was set up cozily and during break, coffee and tea was served.  After the readings, the children and parents had the opportunity to look into Vivian's work and buy some of her wonderful stories which Vivian gladly signed for them. By doing so, the books became a very personal souvenir.

I would like to thank Vivian once again for coming all the way from Gouda, and our sponsors (Consul-General of the Netherlands, Dhr. Hesseling, Mrs. Adèle Hodgson (FIS) and Mrs. Andrea Ruytenberg (SNOF)) for making this event possible.

Here is Vivian's own visit report: Evaluatie_Frankfurt.pdf
